UP National Writers Workshop 2009

so we hit the ground running. after the chartered bus dropped us off at the aim-igorot lodge at a little past 12:00, we checked in and clambered on to the waiting jeepneys that took us to bencab’s museum on asin road. we had lunch there at his post-birthday celebration. afterwards, we watched several traditional dances before checking out his spanking new art museum. it’s now 4:15, and we’re finally getting some rest. we don’t have anything to do until 7:00 dinner and the briefing that comes right after that.

on the road to bencab’s museum we noticed a poster on the jeep that included on its list of stops, sayote island. this started a lively conversation among the fellows. it was dean who first noticed sayote island. when i asked the driver where it was, he said it was on the way to the museum. he forgot to point it out to us, though. luckily for us, sir rio reminded the driver to show us sayote island on the way back to john hay. philip got some photos of sayote island. i’ll make him upload it here by tonight. i think dean and the other fellows will be blogging about sayote island, so i’ll keep this short. besides, i’m dead tired. i haven’t slept since i woke up saturday morning. this will do for now.
